A
writer for the Fredericksburg VA local magazine, "The Front Porch",
came to visit the Mid Atlantic New Painting Exhibition and was inspired
to write a poem about this painting:
“MYSELVES”
A PAINTING BY NATHALIE VOGEL
Why
does she portray herself
Lying abed while staring up,
Shoulders bare and lips red
And hair pillowed behind her?
In
the room a mirror reverses
The artful image she presents,
Tracing body-tones so lucid
They reflect back to her eyes.
Could self-vigil be implicit
As a bloom the young adore,
Or gazing inward to see out
Is she the double of her soul?
